Description
1665 Glanvill Sciri Aristotle Philosophy White Science Witches Descartes RARE

Joseph Glanvill was a 17th-century English philosopher who was fascinated by the supernatural and the existence of witches. Glanvill was accused of atheism by numerous figures including Thomas White. White, also called Blacklo or Albius, was critical of Glanvills philosophical views on Aristotle which led to Glanvills own response to White. In fact, White was critical of numerous philosophers views of Aristotle which became evident in his book Scrie, Sive Sceptices.

This 1665 edition of Glanvills rebuttal to White was published in London by Coates and Eversden.
